Where the sound lives

Boulevard Recording · Hollywood CA

A Room With a Point of View

You can feel the weight of this room when you walk in. You can feel the history. You can also sense the comfort and lack of pressure which makes you forget you're even in a studio.

Bob Ezrin once said the room was acoustically perfect. We'd like to think that this still holds true. It's not too live or too dead. It has the perfect balance of warmth and clarity.

"Producer's Workshop was an acoustically perfect space."

Bob Ezrin - Producer - The Wall - Pink Floyd

Live Room

Where it all starts

You can set up anything in this room and it will sound great anywhere. We've tried drums in about 10 places. It always works out. We have our favorite spots but this room is versatile to say the least.

What really makes this room special is not only how it sounds, but how it feels. It feels like a home away from home. It never feels pretentious or scary to be here. That is one of the first things people notice.

The Sound Techniques ZR36 at the center

The control room has been redone quite a few times over the years but always remained in the same place. Even though the room is essentially a square, it sounds phenomenal.

The way the room interacts with the riser the console sits on and the racks acting like a bass trap directly behind the engineer are part of what make this room unique it is ability to translate even when it looks like it shouldn't

The Detail Room

ISO Booth

70s shag. Completely its own thing.

This booth was built in 1974 for Thelma Houston's direct to disc album on Sheffield Labs. It is large for a vocal booth. It also touches no common walls. It stands alone.

One of our favorite places for drums, upright piano, guitar amps, bass amps and of course vocals. The original 70s shag carpet gives it a unique character that makes it feel like a little piece of history.

The Extra Space

More room when you need it

This is a versatile space that can be used for a variety of purposes. It's ideal for recording amps in isolation, providing extra room for additional musicians, or creating a more spacious environment for certain types of sessions. In the 70's it was the only isolation they had. We use it for anything that needs it.
